Tavis Smiley previously of PBS is an American TV personality, podcaster, talk show host and political commentator. Mr. Smiley started his career in broadcasting in 1996 and many of his interviews began appearing on nightly news stations. Years later, in the early 2000s, Tavis Smiley began hosting his own self-titled show on national public radio. Throughout his career, Mr. Smiley has written articles and books about issues facing African Americans. In 1999, Tavis Smiley founded the Tavis Smiley foundation, a non-profit program providing leadership training to teens aged 13-18.
