Happy Tails was founded in 1991 by Diann Burchak, a Cal Poly Animal Science/Pre-Vet graduate. In those days kennels were dark and dreary places. Dogs were rarely let out of their enclosures to potty and group play was simply unheard of. Cats were kept in small cages and rarely received any special attention or exercise.
