Steamforged Games announced that it will partner with developers Jagex to bring RuneScape on tablets later this year. The MMORPG will be getting not one but two tablestop versions, a board game, and a tabletop role playing game. The board game will be available on Kickstarter later this year and the tabletop version will head straight to stores.

Both games draw inspiration from RuneScape's fantasy world, Gielinor. The games will feature the characters destinations, adventures, and settings that the MMORPG has made famous throughout its long history. The board game can send up maximum of 5 players in a quest-based adventure across the land of Gielinor.

According to the official announcement of Steamforged, players will "craft and upgrade equipment as well as upskill their characters cook special recipes, engage with NPCs, and test their talents while exploring different areas of the globe". Like the game, players will discover side-quests to flesh out the game's world.
