RuneScape as well as Tibia and is played with iso perspective
Amid Old School RuneScape giving players the old-fashioned 2006 experience and the shorter-lived DarkScape giving players more PvP-based game. Developer Jagex has joined forces with the maker of board games Steamforged Games to release not only two tabletop games over the course of 2022.
Steamforged Games' partnership together with Jagex is the latest in a series of collaborations , bringing the most popular gaming franchises into a tabletop gaming environment. The tabletop gaming powerhouse has produced board games based upon series such as Monster Hunter World and Dark Souls and most recently completed a massively successful Kickstarter campaign for a Resident Evil 2 board game in which they raised more than one million GBP earlier this year.
Now, the developer has set its sights on the world of Gielinor and RuneScape with plans to launch both a board game and an RPG book for tabletop gaming this year. The two RPG adaptations will have many of RuneScape's most popular characters and locations, allowing a group with up to five players to play classic quests that are part of RuneScape in addition to bringing the adventure in this world called Gielinor home.
Players will be able to design and upgrade equipment, engage with NPCs, and take on several side quests inspired from the popular MMORPG. The board game is set to go on sale through an Kickstarter campaign later in the year, while the tabletop RPG book will debut in stores.
The essential book for tabletop RPGs is notably compatible with the huge tabletop RPG Dungeons and Dragons five edition core books, which will allow dungeonmasters to seamlessly integrate elements from RuneScape into their games.
Jagex Director of Operations Phil Mansell was optimistic about the project expressing his enthusiasm over it. Kickstarter program "involving all the RuneScape and RuneScape communities" and Steamforged CCO Mat Hart believed the "rich RuneScape universe will be beautifully translated" into a tabletop-based environment.
