iPhone Won't Turn On After Screen Replacement? Here's The Fix!

Your iPhone won't turn on after screen replacement? OK, Here's the fix! Today, we're going to explain what to do when your iPhone won't turn on after a screen replacement. It's gonna happen for any number of reasons, and we would like to start with the simplest fixes first.
1) Reset Your iPhone
So first step is to reset your iPhone.
On an iPhone X, XR, XS, 8, 8 Plus:
press and release the volume up button, press release the volume down button, and then press and hold the side button on your iPhone until the Apple logo reappears on the screen.
And, Yes you may have to hold down the side button for 40 seconds.
iPhone 7 and 7 Plus:
it's the volume down button and the side button. Press and hold those buttons simultaneously until Apple logo appears.
And iPhone 6s and earlier
Press home button and power button simultaneously until Apple logo appears.
2) DFU restore.
Even if your iPhone looks like it won't turn on you can, a lot of the time, you will still able to put it into DFU mode. DFU stands for Device Firmware Update which reloads the software and the firmware of your device. As such, it's an even deeper restore mode than the recovery mode Apple describes on their website.
To do that, you may check the instructions here : https://help.ifixit.com/article/108-dfu-restore
So, when DFU restore, hard reset, didn't work. It's time to get down to the actual nuts and bolts of your iPhone.
3) Check the hardware
So the first thing to check is, is your iPhone turning on actually or the iPhone screen is broken?
First, let it turn on, flip the vibrate switch on the side of your iPhone. If your iPhone is actually vibrating, that's mean your phone is on and the screen isn't working. If that's the case, then you have to re-seat the connections of the display inside your iPhone.
Just disconnect each cable from the logic board and reconnect it back.
Cross your fingers. Hopefully it works. You will need to sent your iPhone back to Apple or reputable iPhone repair store near you.
4) Disconnect the battery, reconnect the battery
Now, one of the things that we found from personal experience is that it's very important to disconnect the battery before you try to do a screen replacement.
Even if it seems like you shouldn't have to, right? The reason you should do this is because there's current going through the phone and it's very easy to short something out.
The other piece of it, which is the unfortunate thing that happens, sometimes is that the pins as you have found out when you reconnect replace screen on the logic board, that's very sensitive. So sometimes you can bend those pins and then you'd have to try a new display.
A lot of the time the replacement screens that people buy aren't the highest quality. So sometimes it's a good idea just to buy another replacement screen on Amazon or wherever you bought it you and try that one on your phone.
So I would recommend reopen your phone, re-seat all the connections, disconnect the battery, reconnect the battery, disconnect the display, reconnect the display. Make sure you're following the guidance on ifixit.com to make sure that everything ended up in the right spot because one little miss-connection in here and there can be a problem.
5) iPhone's logic board
If your phone is completely dead after you've tried all of this, it's probably a problem with the logic board of the phone and you need to get the phone repaired.
Before you go to Apple with a replaced screen, get rid of the replacement screen. Put the original screen back in your iPhone, even if it's cracked. This is because Apple won't touch a phone at the Genius Bar or give you an out of warranty replacement cost price if it has a third party part .
Yeah, so that's what to do when your iPhone won't turn on after a screen replaced. Remember this, before you get your iPhone screen replacement done, check the iPhone repair store's review, only sent your iPhone to a reputable and real iPhone repair specialist.
