The Renaissance of Sanatana Dharma in the Light of Sri Aurobindo – Part 3: Key Concepts 

Introduction: The course aims to revisit the principles, teachings, practices, and future of Sanatana Dharma through the vision of Sri Aurobindo. This is the third part of the course, which focuses on introducing key concepts of Sanatana Dharma such as Gods and Goddesses, Rebirth, Law of Karma, Avatarhood, Rituals, Fasts and Festivals, etc. in the light of Sri Aurobindo's perspectives. 

Section 1: Sri Aurobindo's Prophesy Sri Aurobindo believed that India must rise to give Sanatana Dharma to the world and that it is a life itself, not just a matter of belief. The Dharma is universal in nature and embraces all possible means to become one with the Divine. Section 2: Current Challenges and Misunderstandings Post-independent India embarked on a journey of progress, which deepened misunderstandings and misinterpretations of Sanatana Dharma, alienating people from their cultural roots. 

An average young Indian mind feels handicapped in matters of Sanatana Dharma due to the confusion and blind prejudices and passions. Section 3: Sri Aurobindo's Vision for the Future Sri Aurobindo's vision is for the renascent India to build up integral consciousness that can manifest the Divine in all fields of activity. The future of Sanatana Dharma lies in finding original solutions in scientific, philosophical, cultural, social, economic, political, and other fields. Section 4: Course Content Overview 

Part 1 covered an overview of Sri Aurobindo's life and works, fundamentals of Sanatana Dharma, foundations of Indian culture, an overview of the sacred texts, the idea of spirituality, Dharma, Purushartha, Brahmacharya, and the message of Sanatana Dharma to humanity. Part 2 introduced the sacred texts of Sanatana Dharma (Vedas, Upanishads, Gita, and Tantra) and evaluated them in the light of Sri Aurobindo. Part 3 focuses on introducing key concepts of Sanatana Dharma such as Gods and Goddesses, Rebirth, Law of Karma, Avatarhood, Rituals, Fasts and Festivals, etc. in the light of Sri Aurobindo's perspectives. Section 5: Learning Objectives Get introduced to the fundamental texts of Sanatana Dharma and evaluate them in the light of Sri Aurobindo. 

Have a deeper understanding of symbolism of the sacred texts of Sanatana Dharma in the light of Sri Aurobindo. Integrate the 'key words' of Sanatana Dharma and their inner significance as used in the fundamental texts under study. Appreciate the subtleties and profundities of these texts of Sanatana Dharma. Evaluate and apply the teachings of the sacred texts of Sanatana Dharma in one's day to day life. Understand the contribution of the Rishi tradition of Bharat. 

Learn many Mantras and other relevant portions of the sacred texts and internalize their message. Understand the basis of how the Rishis of the past were able to create such a great repository of spiritual knowledge. Conclusion The renaissance of Sanatana Dharma in the light of Sri Aurobindo is an essential and much-needed journey for all of humanity. The course sequence aims to revisit the principles, core teachings, Shastras, practices, past, present, and future of Sanatana Dharma, all through the vision of Sri Aurobindo. Learners will gain a deeper understanding of the nuances of the fundamental texts of Sanatana Dharma, appreciate their subtleties and profundities, and apply their teachings in their daily lives. Furthermore, learners will also understand the contribution of the Rishi tradition of Bharat and learn many Mantras and other relevant portions of the sacred texts and internalize their message. The vision of Sri Aurobindo will guide us to build up integral consciousness, manifest the divine potently, and find original solutions in all fields of activity, scientific, philosophical, cultural, social, economic, political, and so on. As we continue to embark on this journey, we must keep in mind Sri Aurobindo's words, "India of the ages is not dead nor has She spoken Her last creative word; She lives and has still something to do for herself and the human peoples."
