The ability to extract legendary power and incorporate them into new items is present in the recently launched Diablo Immortal, giving fans an idea of how the system may play out when it comes to Diablo IV. Blizzard included a feature in Diablo in 2015 where players could get and apply upto three legendary powers with the Kanai's Cube, but the powers are not transferable to other items.
Another major feature of Diablo IV is the Paragon system. Contrary to Diablo's Paragon method, that can almost be upgraded infinitely, Diablo IV's Paragon Board system will include 100 levels, according to Shely. Rather than simply raising the stats for each Paragon point.
Like Diablo the players will face larger decisions to take in Diablo IV's final game about how to further progress their character. There are certain tiles in the Paragon board can benefit certain skills over others, meaning even if two players are playing the same class, the skills and bonuses they've selected for their Paragon boards could be wildly different.
"Each of those squares could be plus five strength or a different ability or something that can enhance your skills," Fergusson said. "And it's possible to connect these boards and design your own pathway through.
