What to expect when you see a urologist for the first time?

You will enter an exam room and a staff member will record your detailed medical history. It will focus on your genitourinary system and what your underlying problem is and also involve a complete review of all body systems. Disease of other systems can help diagnose urologic problems.

Urologists specialize in the male and female urinary tract and male reproductive organs. Urologic organs include the kidneys, adrenal glands, bladder, ureters, urethra, testes, epididymis, prostate. Patients may have bladder or prostate cancer, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and other genitourinary disorders. Urologists may have additional subdisplinary training as well.

We diagnose and treat all problems involving the male and female urinary tracts, as well as the male reproductive organs in both adults and pediatric patients. Many of our surgical interventions are minimally or less-invasive, and we use robotic surgery when appropriate.
