The Upton House

Visit this historic house that once belonged to a women's rights activist Harriet Taylor Upton for nearly 60 years. Harriet was a prominent figure who lead the mob for women's rights to vote which led to the development of the National American Woman's Suffrage Association. The house was built in the year 1840 in Egyptian Revival style of architecture by General Simon Perkins who later gifted the house to Harriet. Today it houses the Upton Association as well as the Suffrage Museum where it reflects the struggle of women in an earlier century.
