Shepeard Community Blood Center was founded in 1978 and is located in Augusta, Ga. The blood center collects more than 32,000 units of blood every year. It provides services to various hospitals, such as the Doctors Hospital, Edgefield County Hospital, Jefferson Hospital, Wills Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital. Shepeard Community Blood Center encourages to donate 110 pounds blood after 17 years of age for good health and to save the lives of patients in local hospitals. The center has a laboratory to check the quality of blood. Shepeard community Blood Center provides blood and blood products for more than 10 hospitals in nearly 10 counties.
