Christ Church Episcopal

Located in downtown Chattanooga, surrounded by the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, we are a community dedicated to following Jesus Christ. We seek, by God's grace, to be an open community, reflective of the diverse community around us as well as the wide embrace of Christ's love for all people. We are young and old, families, singles and couples, gay and straight, black and white. We believe that the life of prayer goes hand in hand with a call to daily action. We live out this calling by walking the way of Jesus, serving our neighbors, engaging in acts of love and justice, and extending welcome to all who come through our doors. We have historically identified as an Anglo-Catholic parish. Worship at Christ Church reflects the influence of the nineteenth century Catholic revival in the Anglican Communion. Sunday morning services are a multi-sensory experience; incense, candles, bells, chant and colorful vestments enrich our worship. We hope that the community at Christ Church will help you to grow deeper in your faith and that you will find yourself strengthened and sustained for service to God and to the world.
