Costa Rican mushrooms refer to fungi species found in the country of Costa Rica. Some of the most commonly known species are psilocybin mushrooms, also known as “magic mushrooms,” which contain the psychoactive compound psilocybin. These mushrooms are often used for recreational and spiritual purposes.
Other common species of mushrooms in Costa Rica include edible mushrooms such as Oysters and Shiitake, as well as toxic mushrooms such as the Destroying Angel.
Appearance
The Costa Rican Magic mushrooms, a psilocybe cubensis gene, belongs to the volcanic heights in Costa Rica. They have thick stems with more modest caps than other strains of the cubensis family.
